Board of directors

The Board of directors comprises five shareholder-elected members and three elected by the employees.

Rolv Erik Ryssdal, chairman of the board

Rolv Erik Ryssdal became CEO of Schibsted as of 1 June 2009. He has been employed in the Schibsted Group since 1991 and has held several management positions including CEO of Aftonbladet (1999-2005), CEO of VG (2005-2008) and CEO of Schibsted Classified Media, the holding company for our international online classifieds operations (2008-2009).

Rolv Erik Ryssdal has a Masters degree of Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Management (BI), and a Masters degree of Business and Administration from INSEAD in France.

Lena K. Samuelsson Silow

Editor-in-Chief of Svenska Dagbladet since 2001. Worked in newspapers for more than 20 years. Project director for 20 Minuten in Germany from 2000 to 2001, night manager, news manager and assistant managing editor of Aftonbladet from 1989 to 2001. Previously worked for local Swedish newspapers.

Jan Einar Greve

Lawyer at Thommessen Krefting Greve Lund AS; lawyer of the Norwegian Supreme Court since 1963. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bergens Tidende 1999-2009. Chairman of the Board of Directors of AS Nygårdstangen and Sarsia Innovation AS. He is a director of  AS Kistefos Træsliberi and Kistefos Investment AS.

Ådne Kverneland

CEO of Brødrene Kverneland AS, which includes Kverneland Bil AS and Brødrene Kverneland Eiendom AS since 1989. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stavanger Aftenblad 2002-2009, prior to that a director and alternate director of the Board of Directors. Mr. Kverneland has conducted research in the United States and Japan, has taken doctoral studies at the Stockholm School of Economics from 1981 to 1986 and has been a director of the Norwegian School of Management (BI). Has been the director of Kverneland ASA for many years. Has held various board appointments in the arts and culture in Norway and in the car industry, including the European Ford Dealer Association (EFDA).

Ruth Elisabeth Ropstad

Departmental head at Vennesla upper secondary school, responsible for economics subjects and for arranging exams. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fædrelandsvennen 1994-2009 and a director since 1988. Scholarship holder, lecturer and part-time teacher in economics subjects at the University of Agder for several years. Holds a degree in economics from the University of Agder in Kristiansand and a master's degree in economics from the Norwegian School of Management (BI) in Oslo.
